The Bell family has created deep roots in the Sacramento area. In 1961 Mel and Joan Bell moved their young family to the Sacramento valley shortly after finishing Dental school in Chicago Illinois. Elk Grove was a small farming and ranching town in the 60s located only 15 minutes from the State Capitol. Mel and Joan loved the area and wonderful climate that California had to offer. Mel became a very successful business man and Dentist and counseled his children to either become doctors, lawyers or learn a trade and become entrepreneurs. Although Mel Bell retired from dentistry after 43 years of very successful practice in 2002, he still works full time at his food processing plant Bell Tasty Food Inc and owns MCB Properties.
Mel is a kind, gentle, man who has to keep busy; even though Mel retired once, he is always thinking of new ventures to raise from the dust and make successful. His kids took his advice and now have four well established businesses in the area. These companies include Bell Pest Control, Pizza Bell, Bell Brothers Heating and Air, J Bell Heating and Air. Dale’s children have also followed the same advice their grandfather gave to his children and have created businesses of their own. These businesses include Bella Studios, Nancy Gene Bell Massage and The Handy Firemen.
Members of the Bell family have become very well known and liked in the community. They volunteer time, participate in community activities, donate to organizations, and donate to local schools and sport groups. Over the course of many successful years in business the Bell brands have become highly recognizable. The family business are also able to benefit from the cross branding that has happened over the years; this tool has helped each company boosts their performance and grow. The Bell companies are always looking for new ways to grow and become even bigger forces in Central and Northern California Economies.
